I designed a website mockup for an NYC music program

I was part of Sound Thinking NYC’s summer program myself back in high school.

I noticed that the CUNY website—where their program is listed—doesn’t reflect their organization’s unique branding. So I designed a mockup website that aligns more closely with their identity and needs.

  • "This mock website looks AMAZING, definitely something I think our program could truly benefit from. I'm honestly kind of obsessed with it... Thank you for taking the time to work on this mock up, your talent speaks for itself."

Existing Website

  • One-pager hosted on CUNY’s website

  • CUNY-branded for a non-CUNY audience

  • No place for student work

New Website Mockup

  • STNYC-branding reflects org’s personality

  • Showcases all past student work

  • Welcoming portal for STNYC community

Student Work page mockup

STNYC shares student work through SoundCloud playlists each summer, so I designed the Student Work page to embed those playlists as an easy yearly archive.

The result?

The program manager shared that it’s been challenging to break away from CUNY’s strict branding requirements. While I was able to share some resources to support them, I hope they’ll have more flexibility in the future so I can continue designing a web presence that truly reflects their identity!
